The main focus of HCCA is to provide robust and compliant capital allowances advice, identifying all tax relief opportunities that clients are legally entitled to.

The consultancy specialises in advising businesses and individuals throughout the UK on the tax savings available from capital allowances, following their investment in and the development of commercial property. The combination of 15 years of capital allowances experience along with quantity surveying, tax and valuation skills enable HCCA to maximise tax savings for their clients, whilst providing robust valuations that will stand up to HMRC scrutiny.

HCCA was established in 2014 by Helen Cooper; a Chartered Quantity Surveyor and a member of the Association of Taxation Technicians. Helen has 30 years’ experience in the construction and property industry with 20 of those advising on capital allowances.

Following positions in Birmingham and London, Helen moved to the South West in 2001 where she set up the South West business of a leading national surveying practice before establishing HCCA.

Over the years Helen has developed a broad knowledge of all aspects of capital allowances in commercial property transactions. She has given advice and carried out valuations for a variety of sectors such as retail, offices, industrial, manufacturing, nursing homes, hotels and furnished holiday lettings and a wide range of clients and intermediaries including property funds, property companies, private individuals, owner occupiers, accountants, solicitors and agents.

In addition to providing advice and valuation services, Helen also delivers technical presentations to clients, solicitors and accountants covering all issues from an introduction to capital allowances, to the intricacies of the new capital allowances fixtures legislation.
